To improve our extensibility offering, we are deprecating Rules and Hooks. We are focusing our attention on Actions as a unified extensibility product for developers, and we will continue to add features and functionality to Actions. We recognize the value Rules and Hooks have provided over the years and know that it will take some time to migrate existing Rules and Hooks to Actions. This is why we are extending our migration deprecation window through November 18, 2024. We want to make this transition as smooth as possible. As part of this announcement, we recommend taking a moment to review all the functionality we have provided through Actions.
What’s Changing?
Over the next 18 months, we will be winding down support for Rules and Hooks in our products and navigating all developers to use Actions as the main place for customization and extensibility. This has been the case since we introduced Actions in 2020. Rules and Hooks will continue to receive full maintenance support until end of life; however, no new functionality will be introduced. This has been the case since we first introduced Actions in 2020.
Hooks End of Life
We plan to fully remove Hooks from all tenants by November 18, 2024.
October 16, 2023
Hooks will no longer be available to new tenants created as of October 16, 2023. Existing tenants with active Hooks will retain Hooks product access through end of life.
November 18, 2024
Hooks will be removed from all tenants on November 18, 2024. Migrations must be completed by this date, as all Hooks will be removed at end of life on November 18, 2024.
Rules End of Life
We aim to fully remove Rules from all tenants on November 18, 2024. We acknowledge that a few remaining gaps in functionality exist between Rules and Actions, and we are actively working to resolve these gaps in advance of removal from new tenants. You can see all known gaps in our documentation.
